Importance of Values

Values are important to the study of organizational behavior because they place the foundation for understanding of attitude and motivation, and because they influence our observations. Values are generally control attitudes and behavior of individual people who joined an organization, we can value the person through his attitude and behavior and his working performance in the organization.

Types of Values

There are two types of values, the one set which contains 18 individual value items called terminal values and a person set a target and achieve it during his life time is called instrumental values.

1)      Quality time is more important but that doesn’t always happen as scheduled, it needs some hanging around with your kid together.

2)      It’s dinner time, yes! This is the time to talk and be in touch with your kid and remember it’s not the time for planning things for your busy schedule of tomorrow.

3)      Select some exercises may be mind games, yoga, stretches etc that involve your child too.

4)      Volunteer in spending time with your child during their project works, home assignments and any other activities to give them your thoughts, views and ideas and also know about their ideas and views. This allows time for you both to be together.

5)      Ask your child to make a list of activities or things that they wish to do with you and rank them based on affordability, importance etc. But commit for doing at least some activities and do it.

6)      Reward your child upon each success and help them come out of failures without any hard feelings.

7)      Inculcate the habit of taking part in your household chores by teaching them simple and easier work according to their age and one day you will know how they are helpful to spend more time with them as they do lot of household help for you.

8)      Make a time schedule and note down in your planner. If somebody else needs that time, let them know your commitment with your kid. This gives them a feeling that they are the top priority.
